Our wedding was January 25, 1969 in Oakland, California, and then the reception was in Piedmont. California. It was raining pretty hard by the time we left our reception. Most of the day, the rain had held off. John didn’t want the car decorated; so he had plans to park it somewhere else, hidden. When I heard that, I was pouting, because all my life part of the dream of growing up and getting married was having "Just Married" on your honeymoon car. It was as essential to me as having a wedding cake. So, he parked it more normally, and told the guys to go easy on it. The "guys" were fellow Oakland, California Police Officers.
John was my first husband, and the father of my son and my daughter. He passed away in 1992, and never got to meet his granddaughter, Anna Leigh.
